Here’s How Beyonce Can Leverage Technology to Grow Her Empire 🐝

Now, while the world's attention may be focused on this natural disaster, there's another global phenomenon that's taking center stage - none other than the queen herself. And no, we're not talking about just any queen; we're talking about the epitome of musical royalty, OUR very own queen - Beyoncé.

We know - we've already delved into the impact of AI on the music industry in one of our past newsletters. But with Beyoncé's tour rocking stages worldwide and Blue Ivy's mesmerizing dance moves stealing the show, we can't help but indulge in some speculative thinking about how our queen, Beyoncé, could take her artistry to mind-blowing heights using cutting-edge technology like AI.

Beyoncé is the embodiment of magic and inspiration, consistently delivering mind-blowing performances that leave us in awe. So the question arises: Could AI be the missing ingredient to take her artistic expression to a whole new level? Can you even imagine the possibilities? We certainly can't help but imagine what Web3 for the Culture would bring to the table if Beyoncé ever sought our expertise on how web3 and AI could further amplify her creative genius. Let's dive into the realm of boundless imagination and explore the incredible potential that lies at the intersection of Beyoncé, web3, and AI. 

Recommendation 1: Apple Vision Pro 🤝Beyonce’s Renaissance Tour

If Beyonce and Apple have anything in common, it’s two things: 1) they know how to build a loyal fanbase and 2) they’re always pushing the bounds of what’s possible in art and technology, respectively. So what would happen if these two legends came together? Let’s just say the result would be magical.

ICYMI, last week we wrote about our thoughts on Apple’s newest product launch, the Vision Pro headset. Although it’s a little pricey and not as stylish as the everyday person, this headset lets users explore by overlaying digital content onto our physical environments through the use of augmented reality and virtual reality technology. It’s not set to release until early 2024, but if there’s anyone who can get her hands on a few of them, it’s Queen Bey. 👑🐝

Not only does she have the most engaged and loyal fanbase, but her being on tour right now sets up the perfect scenario for her to create once-in-a-lifetime experiences that her fans will love and remember forever. If we were on Beyonce’s team, here’s what we’d recommend:

  1. Reach out to Apple’s partnerships team and find a way to secure at least 10 Vision Pro headsets to be used at her concerts across the world.

  2. Create a premium ticket add-on where fans who attend the concerts can try out the Vision Pro and experience their first immersive experience – a mini Beyonce concert! 

  3. Select one random person who attends this experience to receive a free Apple headset. 

It’s a win-win for everybody because Apple gets to prove the use cases to Beyonce’s fans and win them over as potential customers, and Beyonce gets to position herself at the forefront of art technology. 

Recommendation 2: Create a $BHIVE token 🐝

What’s better than being a loyal superfan? Being a loyal superfan who also gets to profit off of the success of their favorite artist. Yet again, a win-win! 

Imagine if Beyonce’s superfans had an opportunity to purchase a membership token (let’s call it $BHIVE) that gives them special access to: 

  • Exclusive bonus tracks on her (pt. 2 to “Break My Soul” anyone?!) 

  • Intimate meet-and-greets with the Queen herself

  • Access to high profile events such as the Roc Nation Brunch 

  • …and much more!

With a limited supply of tokens, as the value of it goes up (and it will because it’s Beyonce, duh), her token holders also reap the financial benefits of supporting her through the success. They can choose to hold on to it and take part in the perks for a lifetime, or eventually sell it. And if her ticket prices are any indication of what the resale value will be on a $BHIVE token, her fans will definitely be able to make a profit on it and so will she because of the royalties that she’d get from every sale and re-sell. But also… let’s be forreal… who’s selling this if you’re one of the lucky few to get one in the first place?! It’s giving hot commodity. 

Recommendation 3: Hyper-regionalize her content 🌍

Even though it's safe to say that almost everyone loves Beyoncé's music worldwide, we can't ignore the reality that musical tastes vary greatly across regions. What resonates with fans in one part of the world may not have the same impact in another. From rap to grime to amapiano, each region has its own unique musical flavors that captivate its local audience. But what if Beyoncé could achieve the seemingly impossible and appeal to everyone?

Enter AI songwriters, the game-changers in this scenario. With their creative prowess, they can generate melodies, harmonies, and chord progressions that even human composers might not have considered. Just imagine training an AI to analyze Beyoncé's extensive discography alongside the most popular and recognized music genres from a specific region. The result? A stunning culturally-infused remix that would leave us in tears of joy or, let's be honest, it could also go the other way. But that's the beauty of it.

Now picture this innovation replicated across each stop of Beyoncé's tour, catering to the unique musical tastes of each region she visits. Personalization becomes the core strength of AI, and once an artist like Beyoncé masters it, even if it's just a song or two during a tour stop, a whole new concert experience is unlocked.

Recommendation 4: Bundles of AI 💆🏾‍♀️

Jay-Z said it best, "I'm not a businessman, I'm a business, man," and Beyoncé embodies that mindset as a successful businesswoman. Alongside her brand deals, tours, and investments, she has ventured into various entrepreneurial endeavors, such as movie production, music releases, and her own clothing line, Ivy Park. Now, she has set her sights on a potential new business venture: haircare. While the specifics are yet to be revealed, one intriguing application comes to mind - AI.

Though it may not seem like an obvious connection, AI has the potential to revolutionize the haircare industry. Imagine an AI model that flawlessly matches hair color during dyeing or allows for virtual hairstyle previews to avoid any post-salon regrets. Companies like Parfait, led by a Wharton alum (wooooh!), are already leveraging AI to create natural-looking wigs tailored to precise measurements and skin tones. And this is just the beginning.

AI can unlock a world of possibilities, from intelligent product formulations and virtual hair try-ons to automated diagnostics for optimal hair health. With dedicated fans like the Beyhive, who spare no expense on concert tickets, it's not far-fetched to envision their enthusiasm for high-quality haircare experiences.

Lol, no but seriously. There’s so much potential at the intersection of art and technology that an artist of Beyonce’s status could really take her empire to the next level.
